Every account picks from Sans, Papyrus, Undyne, Asgore, and Toriel without spending coins. Community rankings put Undyne strongest for soul defense and Toriel weakest for solo carry, though Toriel still fills Defense/Support in coordinated teams. Gamepass roster — Robux shortcuts

How characters fit co-op roles

Regardless of unlock path, lobbies need Attack, Defense, and Support coverage. Undyne and Dust Sans lean Attack; Asgore and Toriel lean Defense/Support; Dream Sans and US Papyrus bridge Support with damage. Plan comps in Team Comp Tool before you invite four friends with four duplicate DPS picks.

Endgame and boss routes

Late content—including Beat Gaster paths—rewards characters with i-frames, burst, or team buffs. Tier 4–5 unlocks like Gaster Sans and Galaxy Sans appear frequently in community clears. Badge perk stacks matter here as much as raw Robux spend.
